Frequently Asked Questions
How do I know if my luggage lock is TSA approved?
To check if your suitcase padlock is TSA approved, look for the red diamond Travel Sentry® logo on the lock. All TSA-approved locks have this logo, indicating that they can be opened by TSA agents for security inspections without damaging the lock.
Who can open a TSA lock?
A TSA (Transportation Security Administration-approved lock) can be opened by The Owner (using the combination or key received with the lock) or by a TSA Agent (using a master key that fits all TSA-approved locks)
Why do I need a TSA Lock?
TSA padlocks are not a legal requirement – we would always recommend them as they allow TSA agents within airports to open and inspect luggage without damaging the lock or suitcase to gain entry.
