Laminated padlocks are built for exactly that. These laminated locks get their name from their construction: layers of steel plates pressed together to create a body that resists cutting and sawing.

The layered steel design gives laminated padlocks an edge over solid cast locks. Water can't pool inside them the same way, so they're less likely to freeze or rust when you're using them outside. That's why you'll often see them securing sheds, garages, gates and outdoor storage.

We stock laminated padlocks from Abus and Squire. The Abus 41 series offers corrosion protection and resistance to drilling. Reliable choices for toolboxes and garden gates. Squire's Stronglock Plus range brings together laminated steel bodies with hardened boron steel shackles for greater security on sheds and outbuildings.

Size matters when you're choosing a laminated padlock. Our range runs from 30mm bodies for smaller jobs up to 60mm for situations needing more security. The shackle length matters too. Standard shackles work for most hasps, but you'll need a longer shackle if you're securing thicker gates or chain-link fences.

Many of our laminated padlocks are available keyed alike, which means one key opens multiple locks. Handy if you're securing several outdoor areas and don't fancy carrying a bunch of keys around.
